Silvia Rodríguez Vázquez
Bio
Silvia Rodríguez Vázquez is a Research and Teaching Fellow (maître-assistante) at the Department of Translation Technology (referred to by its French acronym TIM) of the Faculty of Translation and Interpreting (FTI), where she also worked as a post-doctoral researcher (June 2017 – December 2018) and a research and teaching assistant (April 2011- March 2016). After completing her PhD, she spent 12 months as a SNF post-doc fellow at Dublin City University (DCU), Ireland. During her stay, she collaborated with researchers from the Centre for Translation and Textual Studies (CTTS) and the ADAPT Centre.
Over the last years, her research work has mainly focused on defining the role of translation and localisation professionals in the achievement of a more accessible multilingual web for all, as well as the competences and technology needed for such endeavour. Some of her other research interests include the accessibility of translation technologies for people with visual impairments and the use of controlled language to create easy-to-read content on the web.
