Bio

Dr. Verena Tunger was the coordinator of the Project "Proposal and Implementation of a Swiss Centre for Barrier-free Communication" (July 2017 - March 2018).

She studied French and Russian linguistics and literature in Zurich, Tours and Paris. After completing her doctorate in French linguistics (University of Zurich, 2005), she worked for seven years as a postdoctoral researcher at the former University Research Centre for Multilingualism, at the University of Berne. From 2010 to 2017, she worked as a freelance linguist, copywriter and editor with her own office. She has conducted research on individual, institutional and societal multilingualism in numerous regional, national and international evaluation and research projects.
